Raising investment capital starts with a clear, well-structured pitch. Pitching to Investors is designed for entrepreneurs who want to better understand how to present their business to potential investors and increase their chances of securing funding.

This class breaks down the core components of an effective investor pitch. Participants learn how to clearly communicate the value of their product or service, describe their target market, and explain competitive advantages. The workshop also addresses common investor pet peeves and mistakes that can quickly undermine credibility.

Special attention is given to financial slides—what investors expect to see, what raises red flags, and how to present numbers in a way that supports your story. You’ll also learn how to make a clear “ask,” understand what to leave out of your pitch, and avoid overselling or overcomplicating your message.

The workshop is presented by Michele Weigand, managing partner of Focused Perspective, who brings more than 27 years of experience in finance and business development. Her background includes serving as chief investment officer for KTEC and managing investments for GE Mortgage and GE Reinsurance.

Participants leave with practical guidance, clearer expectations, and greater confidence when preparing to pitch to investors.
