Supervision Boot Camp: Leadership Series (4-Day Program)

Supervisors today face a world of tremendous change and challenge. This program is designed for new and experienced supervisors and managers who want to keep their knowledge and skill consistent with, or a step ahead, of the demands of the workplace. The Supervision Boot Camp: Leadership Series has been designed to build skills in the basic competencies that supervisors need most in leading employees to greater individual, team, and organizational performance.

The Supervision Boot Camp is aimed primarily at supervisors, group leaders, and lead persons who have little formal training in effectively leading the work of others. Experienced supervisors will find this Supervision Boot Camp helpful in updating leadership skills and practices. This program is also recommended as an excellent preparation for those expecting to assume supervisory responsibilities in the future. The two Supervision Boot Camps taken together (Frontline and Leadership Series) can also serve as the core course requirement for the SBDC’s 60-Hour Supervision & Talent Certificate. Those completing this Boot Camp will develop skills in the following competency areas key to successful supervision and leadership of others:

Leadership Series Competencies:

• Moving From Supervisor to Leader
• Change Leadership Strategies
• Making Teams Effective
• Aspects of Negotiation
• Bargaining Strategies
• Effective Delegation
• Continuous Improvement Realities
• Maintaining a Safe Work Environment
• Conducting Effective Meetings
• Situational Leadership
• Managing Multiple Projects
